# re:compound > The operating discipline for professional work made with AI. Work you can stand behind. ## What re:compound is re:compound installs a way of working on both sides of the keyboard: trained moves for a firm's people, and plain-text operating instructions for the AI the firm already uses. Work made with AI then reaches the partner who signs it marked by its maker: what it rests on, what is verified, what is still live, who owns what, and where the partner's judgment counts most. The decision to rely on the work stays human. Each review leaves behind a distinction the team uses next time. ## The problem it addresses AI tools make professional work faster and make it look finished before the thinking is. The partner who signs used to read five inputs; now they get five hundred rolled into one polished document they cannot inspect. The condition is called unreviewable fluency (coined by Bud Bhattacharyya, July 2026). Its causes are two defaults in human–AI collaboration: the model develops the frame it is handed instead of testing it, and the first fluent draft becomes the thing everyone edits. ## Who it is for Senior partners at private equity, law, and advisory firms who sign work their teams make with AI. The buyer is the partner who signs; the unit is that partner and the people whose work they sign. ## What it is not Not software: no systems integration, no new data connections, no subscription. Not AI training or prompt engineering. Not a compliance, fraud, safety, or monitoring system. Not a consultancy that stays: installed means the team runs it without the founders. ## How it works Five movements, one loop. Produce: keep the inquiry open until it has earned a conclusion. Expose: the deliverable and the State of the Work are two cuts of the same work, made at the same moment. Review: the partner records their own first read; then their own AI prepares the few questions worth their time. It does not decide, and it is not the AI that made the work. Rely: a bounded human decision on what can be relied on, for what, and under which conditions. Compound: carry the one distinction that changes the next piece of work. ## Delivery Ten weeks. One senior partner and the people whose work they sign: a pair at minimum, often a whole deal or matter team. Live work, inside the firm's approved AI environment. Delivered personally by the two founders. Fixed fee a single team can fund; if the ten weeks slip, the fee doesn't. Everything installed stays. ## Record (as of September 2026) 11 organizations started. 9 installations completed. 9 of 9 led to the next installation: first to the rest of the partner's team, then to other partners at the same firm. 2 in flight.
